What BarberApp does
BarberApp helps you preview a men's haircut style on your own photo. You choose a haircut style, provide or capture a selfie, and BarberApp uses an AI/image processor to create a haircut preview you can view, save, or show to your barber.
Our privacy promise
No face vault. We do not keep your selfie as a BarberApp asset. We do not use your selfie or generated preview to train BarberApp models. We do not intentionally send selfies to analytics or crash reporting. Your photo is used to make the haircut preview. Generated previews may be held only in short-lived private storage long enough to deliver the result if you leave the app and come back. That is the job.
Information we process
- The selfie or photo you provide for the preview request.
- The haircut style identifier you selected.
- The generated preview returned by the AI/image processor.
- Usage and accounting metadata such as anonymous install/session identifier, generation status, credit usage, timestamps, estimated generation cost, and purchase or entitlement status if paid packs are enabled.
AI/image processing
The image is sent to a third-party AI/image processing service so the requested preview can be generated. The current BarberApp MVP uses the OpenAI API Platform image generation/editing service. BarberApp does not use your selfie to train BarberApp models. Our current AI provider states API data is not used to train its models by default unless the API customer opts in. Vendor processing may include safety, security, legal, and abuse-monitoring handling described in the vendor's terms and policies.
What we do not do
- We do not create a customer face gallery or face vault.
- We do not sell customer selfies.
- We do not persist selfies or image payloads in the app ledger or dashboard; only short-lived private preview objects may be stored for delivery.
- We do not intentionally send selfies to analytics or crash reporting.
Retention
BarberApp's retention goal for customer photos is as close to zero as the production pipeline allows: process the preview, deliver the result, and avoid keeping photo payloads. To keep the app reliable if you close it or switch apps, generated previews may be held in short-lived private storage only long enough for delivery, then automatically expired/deleted. Usage and accounting metadata may be retained for app functionality, fraud prevention, accounting, dispute handling, abuse prevention, security, or legal compliance.
Sharing
We may share information with AI/image processors, infrastructure providers, Apple and approved purchase providers for in-app purchases, security/logging/diagnostics providers configured not to receive image cargo, and legal authorities when required by law.
We do not sell customer selfies.
Your choices
You can choose not to provide a selfie, but BarberApp cannot generate your haircut preview without a photo. For privacy requests or support, contact [email protected].
Children and age gate
BarberApp includes an age gate in the onboarding flow. If you do not meet the app's age requirements, you may not use BarberApp.
Security
We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect app data. No system can guarantee no breach or zero risk. BarberApp reduces risk by treating selfies as sensitive payloads and avoiding long-term photo storage by default.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product, vendors, payment systems, or legal requirements change. The app points to the current Privacy Policy URL once published.
